India Gate is an important site to be visited in Delhi. It was originally named as the All India War Memorial. Thousands of soldiers have laid their lives during the First World War. 4. Hauz Khas

5. Qutub Minar
Being a popular historical landmark of India, Qutub Minar was declared by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site. It is located in Mehrauli in Delhi. It is made up of marble and red sandstone. Qutubuddin Aibak was the founder of this Minar. It was constructed in the Iranian style of architecture. Many Parso Arabic inscriptions could be seen here. 7. Chandni Chowk
It is also termed by few as the Moonlight Chowk. It is a great attraction in Delhi because of its vibrant markets. It was put into ideal play by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and was compiled by his daughter. There are more than 1500 shops including the shops of the silver merchants. The Chowk runs from Lahori Gate to Fatehpur Masjid. One must definitely visit the Parantha Wala Gali over here.
8. Rashtrapati Bhavan
Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official home of the President of India. It is an important landmark of Delhi. It is a huge mansion with beautiful gardens and open spaces. Even the Mughal Gardens is a part of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Edwardian Baroque is the prime inspiration behind the design of this building. More than 700 million bricks were used to construct this building. Cameras are not allowed here.
9. Parantha Wali Gali
It is a narrow street, which is famous for numerous shops selling parathas. All the shops sell strict vegetarian food, without even onion and garlic. Various types of unique parathas are also found here, like the rabri paratha, khoya paratha, mix paratha, parat paratha which are mainly served with tamarind chutney.
10. Jama Masjid
The Jama Masjid of Delhi is one of the largest mosque constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. There are four towers and three main gates to protect this mosque. The red sandstone and the white marble is used for the construction of this mosque. There are two very high minarets were also there. The best time to visit the mosque is during the morning hours and there won’t be much crowd.
11. Sarojini Nagar Market
This market is a great shopping spot where you can buy a huge number of items with a very less amount of money. Previously it was called Vinay Nagarand and later got its name changed to this. It is the perfect place to buy clothes, shoes, fabrics, and accessories. Even branded items are found here at reasonable price. It remains crowded most of the day. It is better to visit it during the weekdays than on weekends.

14. Akshardham Temple
